Itinerary, Packing List, and Permission Slip for February Drill/Campout

Our drill for February will be a winter encampment instead of the usual drill at Gunny’s Hall. All Young Marines and recruits are required to attend and if they are unable to, the same policy for drill applies: email attendance@glcyoungmarines.org. Anyone who does not either attend the campout or follow our standard policy to report their absence will be given an unexcused absence.

The itinerary and packing list can be downloaded here. PLEASE NOTE: many of the activities will be held outside and we will also be walking from the cabins we are sleeping in to the chow hall and other facilities within the camp so it’s imperative Young Marines and recruits come prepared for the elements and bring the items on the packing list, paying special attention to the cold weather gear. Everything must fit into the issued sea bag Young Marines/recruits received at January’s drill. Young Marines/recruits who are not prepared will be sent home. The staff suggests bringing a small string bag for pens, guidebooks, canteens, etc. so these items can be easily carried around the camp during the various activities.

The permission slip Physical Activity Release Form. PLEASE NOTE: This form must be completed, signed, and brought to campout. We won’t have access to a printer and won’t have extra copies so if the form is not completed when your Young Marines/recruit arrives they will be sent home. No exceptions.

Drop off: Friday, February 15 1700 – 1800

Please contact Ms. Schwarzwalder if you have any questions.

REMINDER: Report cards are also due by the end of drill on Sunday. Please email them to reportcards@glcyoungmarines.org.
