May Drill Schedule Changes **Correction for Saturday**

Drill for the month of May will be modified as follows:

Saturday, May 18 Planting Flowers at Mentor Cemetary
Drop off time as per usual at Gunny’s Hall at 0815

Will meet at Gunny’s hall before heading to the cemetery at Hopkins and Jackson in Mentor to assist the Marine Corps League in planting flowers. Parents must stay until flowers are planted, then we will dismiss from the cemetery. Uniform of the day will be Red PT Shirt, knee-length shorts or jeans (NO holes, rips or tears), tennis shoes, unit hoodie. Please do not wear khakis as previously stated.

Sunday, May 19 Rolling Thunder Bike Blessing
We are honored again this year with an invitation from The Blue Knights to have our unit help with their annual Rolling Thunder Bike Blessing. The bikes are blessed before they make the trip to Washington, D.C. for Memorial Day. This is an event we have been participating in for five years as we have developed close relationships with their organization. There is a church service where the Young Marines will be posting/retrieving colors and helpin with the lunch that is served afterwards for the attendees. The Blue Knights are generous supporters of our unit. We believe this is one way we can demonstrate our gratitude for their commitment to us. This will also be in place of our drill so attendance is mandatory.
