Congratulations to all the Young Marines who attended our first encampment! Yes, it rained, it hailed, it snowed, and we had some bugs. It wasn’t perfect, but we did it! Thank you to all the parents for trusting us with your children and having patience with us organizing our first unit trip as new staff. All Young Marines in attendance have earned the Marksmanship Safety, Map and Compass, and Organized Unit Trip ribbons. Please compliment your child as they all worked hard as a team, were well behaved, and handled conflicts appropriately. What can we say, they acted their ages! We enjoyed being with them and look forward to future events.

There is an After Action Report here that we are asking parents and Young Marines to fill out as we welcome your feedback. Please let us know what went well and provide some actionable, constructive, criticism on where there is improvement. We also look for your input and ideas about future activities that can help the group build their Leadership, Teamwork, and Field skills. You can email the completed report to trainingofficer@glcyoungmarines.org or send a hard copy to drill with your Young Marine(s).
