Gathering of the Eagles Air Show at Lost Nation Airport
A big thank you to the Young Marines and recruits who helped out at the airshow this weekend. The members of the United States Aircraft Museum were so impressed with all of you and appreciated your assistance tremendously. Thank you to the parents who helped out as well.

July Drill Encampment **REMINDER**
July's drill will be a camp out out with the Ashtabula unit. Since this our regularly scheduled drill, this is not an optional camp out, therefore Young Marines and recruits are required to attend just as they would any other drill weekend. Drop off will be at 1800 on Friday and pick up will be at 1200 sharp on Sunday. Young Marines and recruits will need to arrive in PT gear, not in uniform as previously mentioned.
The packing list, as well as the necessary medical forms, were emailed to everyone in the unit. Please bring the forms with you when you arrive at drill.
The location is 1498 State Route 46 S, Jefferson 44077 and a link to the location is below. Young Marines and recruits are to report to the drill location and NOT the PAL Center.
Thank you to everyone who have told us whether you are coming or not. If you haven't done so, please let us know ASAP because we need a head count for food. Young Marines and recruits who do not respond will receive unexcused absences. Let us know if you have any questions. IMPORTANT FOR RECRUITS: please let us know if you have any food allergies so we can plan accordingly.
We are looking forward to a fun weekend with the Ashtabula Young Marines.

Camp Ho Mita Koda Community Service Opportunity
Camp Ho Mita Koda would like the unit to help them out at their summer camps again this year. Young Marines help with parking cars and carrying luggage for the campers. Dates of the upcoming camps are July 25 and August 1. Young Marines are needed from 1230 to 1500 and must be in uniform. For more information about the camp and it's location, visit their website at www.camphomitakoda.org. Please note this is not a staffed event and Young Marines need to have their guidebooks signed by one of the camp staff to receive community service credit.
Policy Change
All parents are required to sign in/sign out their Young Marines/Recruits at every drill, except for the Young Marines who drive themselves.

Young Marines Ball
The annual Young Marines Ball has been scheduled for Friday, 15 October at DeRubertis Party Center in Madison. Melissa Willoughby has offered to coordinate this event. Gunny's Hall Social Memberships
As a parent of a Young Marine, you can become a social member of the Mentor Marine Corps League or "Gunny's Hall." This means you can patronize the bar and attend special dinners that are only open to MCL members. You cannot attend their monthly meetings, however. Membership is $26 and you need to have a MCL member sponsor you. Mr. Cimino and Mr. Sickles have offered to sponsor any parent that would like to become a social member. There will be applications at the next drill.
While Sunday morning breakfasts are open to the public, weekly dinner hours are not. Starting in January, the MCL serves bar room food (burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, etc.) from 1600 - 2000. As a social member, you are permitted to participate.
