The Lake County Fair Parade is our only mandatory parade and all Young Marines are expected to participate.

Details

• Date: July 25, 2017
• Drop off: 1700 at the First Church of Christ, 422 Mentor Avenue in Painesville (directly across from Lake Erie College). Participants should enter the church parking lot from Jackson Street.
• Pick up: 1830 at the back gate of the fairgrounds off of Fairgrounds Road.
• Uniforms: Squared away with proper haircuts. Bring your canteens (water bottles are not permitted).

Other

We are usually one of the first marching units in the parade and we are done while the rest of the parade continues so parents will need to pick up their Young Marine at the back gate at 1830. We strongly encourage parents to watch the parade right around the area of the back gate to alleviate any trouble getting to the pick up location while the parade continues.

Parade participants usually get their hand stamped so they can get free admission to the fair after the parade.

Young Marines receive community service hours for participating in the parade.

All Young Marines and recruits are required to contact Mrs. Assink via email at erinassink@gmail.com by Friday, July 21 and let her know if they can or cannot attend.
