Heavy pavement reconstruction on Walnut Street in Painesville has forced fair officials to make changes to the annual opening day parade scheduled for Tuesday, August 12th. Parade participants are being instructed to assemble at the First Church of Christ located at 422 Mentor Avenue in Painesville (directly across from Lake Erie College). Assembly time is 5:00 PM with the parade stepping off at 6:00 PM. Participants should enter the church parking lot from Jackson Street. There is limited parking space available and all parade groups should arrive together to ensure they are together for the parade. There will be fair officials on-site to direct the parade line-up. The parade will proceed west down Mentor Avenue to Fairgrounds Road, then go south to the fairgrounds entrance.
PLEASE NOTE: Pick up location is still at 6:45 at the Fairgrounds Road entrance.
