Greater Lake County Young Marines Staff Announcement

In 2014, the Greater Lake County Young Marines celebrated our 10th year as a unit. Over that 10 year span, we have seen hundreds of kids pass through the our unit. There are many success stories out there in regards to our former Young Marines and the impact that the program and our unit has had on them. What a great sense of accomplishment and pride it has been for the staff!

It was also at this time that Bill Sickles, Unit Commander, and Paul Cimino, Executive Officer, felt they were ready to take on new roles/responsibilities within the unit. To make this happen, we put the word out that we needed additional staff members who would not only bring fresh ideas to the table, but carry the unit forward into the next 10 years and beyond. We reached out to the current Young Marine families and to the community as well. Through these efforts, we were able to  acquire several new staff members. The next part of our plan was to get the new staff members acclimated to the program’s objectives, policies, procedures, and the mission of the Young Marines program as a whole.

On July 7, all six staff members met for a special election. As a result, we are pleased to announce that Jason Pund was elected as Unit Commander and Tammy Dubin was elected as Executive Officer. Jason appointed Kurt Weber as Adjutant. Joy Cimino will remain as Paymaster and Bill Sickles and Paul Cimino will continue as unit staff to work with the Young Marines and support the unit’s efforts. These changes are effective immediately.

Thank you for your continued support in the Greater Lake County Young Marines. We are proud of the unit we have become and look forward to the future.
