ABOUT THE YOUNG MARINES
The Young Marines is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 youth education program for boys and girls ages 8 through high school. The program focuses on character building through a combination of self-discipline, teamwork and leadership, and promotes a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The Young Marines is the official youth program of the U.S. Marine Corps and the focal point of the Marine Corps' Youth Drug Demand Reduction efforts. The Greater Lake County Young Marines was formed in 2004.
Our unit is supported by the local Marine Corps League Col. Justice M. Chambers Detachment. We currently meet the first and third Thursday of every month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and one Saturday a month from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Our drill locations is Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7643 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060. We are currently accepting applications for our next recruit class which is scheduled to begin on March 21. We will have orientation on February 21. Please see the Contact Uspage for more information.
